'The gears are a little different from what people would expect,' singer says of new single dropping Wednesday.
After it was accidentally leaked that Rihanna will have new music very soon, she has officially announced that she will drop her brand-new single, "Diamonds," Wednesday.
"It gives me such a great feeling when I listen to it," she told Z-100 radio host Elvis Duran in Las Vegas, where she performed at the iHeartRadio festival, NME.com reports. "The lyrics are very hopeful and positive, but it's about love and the gears are a little different from what people would expect. I'm excited to surprise them sonically."
She added that the song is "laid back" and "hopeful" continuing that it is a "happy and hippy record."
"Diamonds" is not only the name of her forthcoming single, but is also the title of her world tour, which kicks off early next year.

The single is the lead track off her reported November album release. In addition to sharing her single news, on her Twitter account over the weekend, Rihanna teased her album release and her brand-new website, (Rihanna7.com. The site is not yet complete, but it gives fans a preview with a graphic: the Rihanna R composed of various phrases, including "Heart then break" and "What's love without a tragedy."
While it has yet to be confirmed that her full album will hit shelves in November, it does fit the Rihanna record-release formula. If the rumor ends up being true, it would mark her fourth one to come out in November. In 2009, she released Rated R, one year later she gave fans Loud and then in 2011 she released Talk That Talk.
