1. Make sure that you dress appropriately for every occasion. Ramadan dress codes should be adhered to day and night.

2. Keep your shoulders covered at all times, and relegate anything bodycon and with a short hemline to the back of the wardrobe.

3. Take advantage of the array of fab maxi dresses and skirts in the shops – they are brilliant for covering up in the chicest of ways – and bang on trend! Check out Amber Heard's chic skirt look.

4. Experiment with layering your favourite items that are not Ramadan appropriate. Try wearing hareem pants under a short tunic dress, or slipping a long sleeved silky blouse over a strapless shift or maxi.

5. Sarongs, shrugs and lightweight wraps are perfect to slip on over tops and dresses. Always have one in your bag for a quick extra cover-up just like Poppy (pictured).

6. Channel Kate Middleton cool with lady-like below the knee pencil skirts and chic fitted jackets.

7. Open weave knits are great for covering arms whilst minimising the chance of meltdown. Look for natural fabrics like silks and cashmere to slip on over a classic tee for weekend cool a la Kate Bosworth.

8. Palazzo pants are big news this season. Pair with a shouchy blazer and a short sleeved tee for relaxed city chic that’s fab for work or play.

Don't 1. Wear anything that exposes more than a little skin in public. Banish shorts, mini skirts and anything sleeveless . 2. Don't even think about sunbathing on a public beach in your usual swimwear. Fake tanning is the only way to go this month! 3. Forget to check on how sheer your outfit is. If in doubt, don’t wear it out!
